Canadian High Commissioner to Malaysia said in a press conference at Penang that Canada Malaysia trade, which already is progressing well, is set to increase further.
In the year 2005, bilateral trade between Canada and Malaysia crossed Can dollars 3 billion. Among the most common traded items and commodities between two nations are fertilizers, electrical appliances and hardware and machinery for telecommunication projects. In the changing scenario, fertilizers, cereals, agro-food, oil and gas and information technology services are set to register growth in trade between two nations.
More than 50 Canadian companies have opened offices in Malaysia which offers cheaper consumption items for export to Canada. Presently Malaysian exports stand about four times when compared to Malaysias imports from Canada. Canada voted as cheapest G-7 country to do business with has lately been evoking great interest among exporters in countries across world. In fact Canadian business scenario is making it gateway to entire North America.
In the meanwhile, Canada is also growing its other exports to Malaysia. Of late, number of students from Malaysia registering with Canadian universities has risen manifold. Though education is expensive, in terms of quality and economics, Canada fares better than most other developed places.
