The place is a beauty. Deosai plains are unique in the sense they are the most elevated plains in the whole world. You will find many unique features in this area, which have not seen anywhere else in the world. Imagine being in a plain area at an elevation of more than ten thousand feet. The grass here in this plain is more than 4 feet tall. You can find huge bears in this area. Traveling through this area may be a lot of fun for you.

Deosai plains are located in Pakistan. Pakistan is included in South Asia, and is one of the most populous countries of the world. The North of Pakistan has many mountain ranges and associated valleys. The Karakorams, the Himalayas and the Hindukush Mountain ranges are there, located very close to each other. These ranges possess some unique features which are not found any where else in this world. Deosai plains are one such feature. You can reach Deosai by road or by air, by landing at Gilgit or Skardu. Gilgit and Skardu are only two places in the mountainous North of Pakistan where airports have been built. If you want to travel to Deosai by road, you can reach there by traveling through the Karakoram Highway. You can reach Gilgit in about 20 hours form Islamabad, driving straight. Otherwise, you can reach Gilgit by air, and travel the rest of the path by road. Once you reach Deosai plains, you can get involved deeply in the beauty of the place.  

Deosai is beautiful not only because it is the highest grass land in the world, but also because it is preserving a kind of bars which may become extinct if they are not protected. At the moment, only 38 of such bears exist, all of them in the Deosai plains. These bears are a tourist attraction. People come to visit this plain which lies in the centre of much elevated mountain peaks and has these bears in the tall grass lands. Visit Deosai right before summers, before the land slide season. It is extremely cold in winters so it may be difficult for you to stay there in winters.
