Harrappa is an old city, existing now only in ruins. The ruins are really impressive as they prove the scientific approach and engineering skills of those who lived in this city 2 to 3 thousand years back.

Pakistan is a unique mosaic of modern metropolitans, enchanting rivers and mountain valleys, the deserts and ruins of older civilizations. Pakistan is located in South Asia, and is the country where Indus civilization existed some 5000 years back. The people from Indus civilization were good at engineering and constructions. Those people constructed houses and sanitary systems which we construct very much the same way today. Harrappa is a proof of this fact. Harrappa lies to the South of Lahore, the second biggest city of Pakistan. The place is located at around two and a half hour drive from Lahore. Harrappa is a ruined city which was discovered by the archeologists few decades back. You can visit this place in any season. But as the weather in this part of the world is extremely hot in summers, it is better if you visit this place in winters. In this way you will be able to travel through the city of Harrappa on foot.

 Harapa

The place is of interest to archeologists and the people belonging to this profession and interest visit Harrappa form all parts of the world. You can reach Lahore by air, by road or by railways. Lahore is connected to the rest of the world through all these means. Once you reach Lahore, you can drive to Harrappa which is not a very long drive. The area is somewhat sandy in nature so wear your clothes accordingly. Keep your body covered to avoid the sand and dust.

If you want to see the city in detail, you can hire a guide. The local people know the place very well. There are certain features there about which those people can tell you the stories associated with them. You can find a grave of some pious man in Harrappa which is more than 20 feet long. The street plan and the way houses were planned and constructed is impressive. If you want to stay there, you will need to check in some hotel in the cities nearby.
